Deborah
Bookin
In
her work through the Crystal Bee, Deborah Bookin combines her life-long
appreciation for the mineral kingdom with her years of work and
study in helping professions. As a third-generation member of a
family of retail jewelers, she grew up surrounded by precious and
semi-precious jewels and metals. Influenced by the legacy of her
mother's healing gifts and her own personal health challenges, she
began to explore the energetic healing arts for her own growth and
healing. Convinced of the extraordinary benefits of integrating
traditional and complementary healing arts in the attainment of
higher levels of wellness, she founded the Crystal Bee in 1999 as
part of her commitment to this approach and her desire to support
others in their own self-empowerment, growth, and healing.
Deborah's
commitment to service through her work began with her earlier career
in social work. She has a master's degree in social work from Case
Westem Reserve University, and spent over 15 years working with
human service organizations in the areas of planning, administration,
and direct service. Her work in the field of geriatric social work
has been published in national journals of social work and gerontology,
and has been presented before the Gerontological Society of America.
Since
1992, Deborah has studied a variety of healing arts that complement
traditional health care and enable people to embrace a more active
role in promoting their own health, personal growth, and well-being.
Attuned as a Reiki II practitioner in 1993, she received her Reiki
master's attunement in 2000 and completed an extended program of
study for Reiki mastery in 2002. A graduate of the Graced Space
School of Feng Shui in Cleveland, Deborah is a certified Feng Shui
practitioner and has received master of crystology certification,
signifying completion of levels I & II of the Melody training
in the use of crystals.
Deborah
continues advanced studies in energy healing that reflect her interest
in helping people to come through the processes of healing, growth,
and change in healthy, more satisfying ways. She has a special interest
in assisting individuals with chronic and terminal illnesses, their
families, and other caregivers to access greater comfort, support,
and healing throughout their experience.
